This place needs to be shut down immediately for its endangerment to human health. My pillow cases were covered in blotches that looked like dried blood, and my shower towel was stained with black marks that looked like a woman's eye make-up. The shower floor had a layer of visible brown dirt, and the entire room reeked like cigarette smoke from prior guests. The front desk refused to refund our money for the second night, and when a few minutes had passed 11 a.m. on the morning that we were checking out, they were calling and banging on the door. There was zero hospitality or willingness to be accommodating with a late check-out of even a half hour. This place actually made the glands in my neck swell with pain throughout the night, and I couldn't sleep because I was surrounded by filth. I am so repulsed that I HIGHLY recommend that anyone traveling through the area stay ANYWHERE else. I would rather sleep in my car. This place is a major rip off, and the Department of Health should get involved.
This place is horrible. First told me $135. for a night on the phone I show up day of and they jack it up to $155. Even though online it said $109 as well as the chart on the back of the door. The carpet was not secure to the floor, the walls had holes in them, the vent in the bathroom had an inch of dirt on it, some of the lights in the room did not work. Also there was freshly chewed gum on the floor. I am happy I brought my own sheets and blankets for fear of bed bugs. DO NOT STAY HERE.
I've stayed here a few times in the past, and when I couldn't get into the Quality Inn, in Toms River, yesterday, I had no qualms about coming here, today. I'm currently in Room 207 of the Bay Harbour Motor Lodge, as we speak.. I found the nightly room charge to be fair. No, this place ain't the Holiday Inn, but it's not the Lacey Inn, either. "Ya ever been to the Lacey Inn? One word: Dump. This place AIN'T a dump, even though, I believe the owners are the same as the Lacey Inn. My room? It's clean, it's got a flat screen TV, HBO, a refrigerator and GREAT air conditioning! I tell 'ya, gonna' NEED that air conditioning, today! We're in the grip of yet another Heat Wave, we're expecting daytime temperatures close to 100!! Some of the OTHER posters made mention of the flat sheets (not fitted ones) wrinkling-up, during the night, and leaving you sleeping on the mattress? It DIDN'T happen to me, last night. I don't know, these posters must've been thrashing around in bed, or something, trying out acrobatic porn-star sex with some home-grown talent (former homecoming queens) that they met at Caffrey's Steakhouse, down the road, the night before! You know, cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, THAT kind of thing??!! Bottom Line: The flat sheets DIDN'T wrinkle-up on me!! Also, the blankets and bedspreads were in fine shape, contradicting an earlier reviewer. This is a CLEAN motel, with a swimming pool. Ample parking. Within walking distance of restaurants, bars, pizza parlors. A laundromat. The ONLY downside? Route Nine, out front. During the day, traffic IS murder. You can grow a beard waiting to make a left-hand turn. Yesterday, I found the customer service (in the form of the Boss's daughter) to be friendly, efficient and attentive. Some of these OTHER reviewers MUST have an axe to grind, here! Heck, don't believe ME, though; Try it out for yourself!!!
I have stayed here a handful of times through the years. Good service, not perfect, but generally clean rooms, fridge available. It is a bit more expensive, but we don't have many local options.
